We don't always have room. High season on Lake Yelcho is short, and we keep the hotel small on purpose: we'd rather run it well than grow for the sake of growing. But a full house on our side doesn't mean you have to call off the trip.
There are other places to stay in the area, and we know them first-hand. They're run by people from the local community, not by chains or anonymous listings: neighbors, small business owners and families who live here and know the area well.
Here are the closest options, listed by location.
Cabañas Villa Gesell — Puerto Cárdenas
The closest option to us. The cabins are in Puerto Cárdenas, on the bank of the Yelcho River, a few minutes from the hotel.
About 20 km (12 miles) north, on the way to Chaitén, you'll find these well-kept cabins in the El Amarillo area. A good base for exploring both Lake Yelcho and the country around Chaitén and its volcano.

Hostería La Cumbre — Cuesta del Moraga
About 15 km (9 miles) south of the hotel, up on the Cuesta del Moraga, this guesthouse looks out over the valley. It sits between Lake Yelcho and the village of Villa Santa Lucía.

Refugio Río Roberto — On the road to Futaleufú
Past Villa Santa Lucía, heading toward Futaleufú, this guesthouse sits on the banks of the Roberto River. A good choice if your trip also includes fishing or other activities in the Futaleufú basin.
