Lake Yelcho is known as one of the best fly fishing circuits in the world due to the abundance of trout, variations in the coastline and the temperate climate. The biggest trout caught to date weighs an incredible 17 kilos! (That’s a national fly fishing record.)
The resort has a well-equipped fly shop that stocks all the required fishing gear in case you need to replace or supplement your own. Please note that you are welcome to bring your own boat for fishing.
Fishing Season:
The fishing season starts on the 8th of November 2013 and ends on the 4th of May 2014. You can expect to find wild trout, rainbows and browns at the end of your line throughout the season and Chinook salmon from mid-February to the end of April – some weighing more than 25 kilograms!
