Getting there

In the middle of mountains and glaciers, Yelcho en la Patagonia is located on the shores of one of the largest lakes in Chile, Lake Yelcho. It is1,250 kilometers south of Santiago and 50 kilometers south of Chaitén. These are the three ways you can get to our resort.

Overland

You can drive to Yelcho en la Patagonia through Argentina* by crossing at Puyehue (Osorno) to Villa La Angostura and arriving in Bariloche – 125 kilometers from the border (Cardenal Zamoré). Esquel is 300 kilometers from Bariloche and Futaleufú is 73 kilometers further (the last 40 kilometers is a dirt road). From Futaleufú to Yelcho there is a 100-kilometre stretch of dirt road, taking about 2 hours by car.

* Travel insurance is compulsory in order to transit through Argentina.

Flying

There are regular flights to Chaitén, 60kms from Yelcho en la Patagonia. It takes about an hour to get from Chaiten to the resort by car. You can also fly to Esquel in Argentina which is a 3-hour drive from Yelcho en la Patagonia.

By Sea and Land

From Puerto Montt and Quellon ferries can be taken to Chaiten on a regular basis.
From Hornopiren to Caleta Gonzalo, there is also a ferry that runs daily. It takes about you 2 hours to get from Caleta Gonzalo to Yelcho en la Patagonia.
